Keep your eye out for VFS Acting Alumni Niall Matter as a lead character in a new series about college life created by Aaron Martin (Degrassi: The Next Generation). From the sounds of it, Niall’s got a sweet part to play: rebel rich-kid with a trust-funded education, an enviable gig as bartender for the hottest nightclub in Boston, and college girls routinely going wild for him. (That’s him sandwiched between lead actress Charity Shea and co-star Athena Karkanis.)

Bill Marchant, head of the Acting department, has invited Niall to sit down with his class on May 31 at 4pm for a candid and intimate conversation about the craft, and how what he learned here at VFS prepared him for the challenges and the rewards of being a professional actor. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it sounds like Niall knows why they called this college drama The Best Years.

The Best Years premieres May 22 on GlobalTV here in Canada and on June 29 on The N in the USA.
