Animation Grads Up for Freddies

2nd Annual Channel Frederator AwardsThe 2nd Annual Channel Frederator Awards are coming, and three of our graduates – four films in all – are nominees.

Channel Frederator is the last word in episodic animation anthology video, and in 2007 they featured 3D Animation & Visual Effects graduate Mark Shirra and Classical Animation‘s Choom Lam and Ben Meinhardt.

Now the awards have Mark’s A Great Big Robot from Outer Space Ate My Homework nominated for Best CG Film, while Choom has two filmsIn the Beginning she made at VFS in the running: Bobble & Sqweek in the So Cute It Hurts category and her magnificent final project In the Beginning up for the (wait for it) Badass Bunny Award. (Edit: Along with Ben’s Animals in Love/Binge and Purge. Thanks for the correction, Choom!)

You might remember that Choom was interviewed by Channel Frederator last year, and they also featured some of her amazing concept work for In the Beginning.

You can vote now. Head on over to the site to see all the finalists and have your say!
