We love the Adobe Design Achievement Awards. What a great way to bring together incredible student designers from around the world. Every year, the work is astounding, and we couldn’t be more proud of our students who have succeeded at the ADAAs in years past.

2009 is shaping up to be another great one. The semi-finalists have been announced, and among them are 7 projects made at VFS. All but one of the students are currently in the Digital Design program, several also took Foundation Visual Art & Design, and one of the semi-finalist projects was created in Foundation.

Semi-finalists in the Live Action category:

• Broadcast 2000′s “Get Up and Go” video (aka Balloon Flip) – Foundation grad & Digital Design student Jordan Clarke

• Ladytron’s “Burning Up” video – Foundation grads & Digital Design students Christian Whiticar and Antonio Alarcon Roman and Digital Design student Dewi Mariam

• Goo – Foundation grad Timo Rychert

• The Notwist’s “Gloomy Planets” video – Digital Design student Stefan Ramirez-Perez

Semi-finalists in the Motion Graphics category:

• Negative Advertising – Antonio Alarcon Roman, Christian Whiticar, and Digital Design students Jai Field and Jake Graydon

• Crazy Enough Title Sequence – Digital Design student Jorge Canedo Estrada

• Iran: A Nation of Bloggers – Digital Design students Aaron Chiesa, Toru Kageyama, Hendy Sukarya, and Lisa Temes
