It’s 40,000 years from now, and everything is very messed up. This is the world of Warhammer 40,000, a dystopian version of the far future that features Orks, Eldar, and the eight-foot tall wrecking machines known as the Space Marines. VFS grads first brought the Warhammer universe to our attention with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II. Now Relic has deviated from the real-time strategy of its previous Warhammer games to deliver Space Marine, a third-person shooter/hack and slash hybrid dedicated to the awesome destructive power of those titular Ork smashers.
The game has caused critics to quip, “Space Marine is just endless war. Thanks to powerful weapons and excellent pacing, that war is pretty damn fun.”
This time around representatives from Game Design, 3D Animation & Visual Effects, and Classical Animation joined in on the fun.
