The life of a Sound Design for Visual Media student can take some pretty weird turns. One minute you’re throwing on a pair of heels in the Foley room and the next you’re recording the sound a school bus makes when a jet engine propels it down a runway at almost 600 kilometres an hour (367 mph).
That was the scene at the Abbotsford Airshow‘s press day yesterday, as a group of VFS Sound Design students got a behind-the-scenes look at airplanes and jet-propelled buses alike – recording gear in hand!
