Snikt! Bamf! Ka-blam! It’s the Fall 2012 Impact Awards

The VFS Impact Awards… A chance to come together and cheer on some truly remarkable student work from all of our 13 programs, but also a massive challenge for a class of Entertainment Business Management students to plan, promote, and execute. And the Fall 2012 Impact Awards were no exception.

Held this past Wednesday, the event had a superhero theme – right down to a Fortress of Solitude style centrepiece overlooking the food table – and presenters that included a veritable who’s who of successful alumni, including Jennifer Siddle (Mr. Young), Sarah Elizabeth and Susan Manning (The Little Mermaid), Matt Toner (Zeros 2 Heroes), and Corey McDaniel and Ted Wilson (Gundarr).

Entertainment ran the gamut, too, from a local capoeira group to juggling acts, culminating in a cabaret performance by True Heroines (featuring graduate Jovanna Huguet!). Some attendees even arrived in theme-appropriate costumes, including Deadpool, Harley Quinn, and Thor. (Thor took the audience prize. He had a mean Mjolnir-twirl.)

Of course, the focus was squarely on the amazing student work and the talented men and women behind it. With that in mind, please join us in applauding the winners of the Fall 2012 Impact Awards!
