Looking Back at the Vancouver International Fringe Fest

Vancouver International Fringe Festival, BC’s largest theatre festival, has wrapped up its 28th season. With numerous VFS students, grads, and instructors involved in various productions this year, it was a great opportunity to branch out from the film and television world and share their talent on and off stage.

Some of the productions with a VFS connection include the following:

Romance by David Mamet, starred Adam Henderson and David C. Jones, both instructors in the Acting for Film & Television program, as well as a number of Acting grads.

Caps Lock: The Musical! was a real VFS labour of love. It was written by Dionne Gordon, Program Manager of the Writing for Film & Television program and Writing grad Jennifer Siddle, and starred numerous Acting for Film & Television grads and students, including Mike Berube, Naomi Thomas, and Mayumi Yoshida. Adam Warren, an instructor with the Writing department directed the production and wrote the lyrics while Makeup Design for Film & Television grad Darla Edin choreographed the show. Ryan Tapping, an Entertainment Business Management instructor, was the Executive Producer and Writing grad Keith Opatovsky was the producer.

The End of Civilization and Adult Entertainment were both directed by Liz McLaughlin, instructor, Acting for Film & Television.

A big congrats to all involved in this years festival!
