Recap below – contains spoilers!

Who’s the New Who was the title of the Dr. Seuss-themed episode eight and the six remaining contestants were keen to prove that they, in fact, were the New Who to be reckoned with. Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer was the guest judge this week and he explained the week’s Spotlight Challenge to the artists: create a human-critter hybrid based on a character from the Seuss classic, The Sleep Book. As the producer of both The Cat in the Hat and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Grazer knows his fair share about Dr. Seuss.

Alana experienced serious issues throughout the challenge and had to start her sculpture over again after receiving negative comments from judge Ve Neill, putting her way behind schedule. Derek also struggled and decided to change his wig to look more unique.

The favourite looks of the week were Nicole, who managed to capture a Seussian feel, Laura, who brought Dr. Moreau into her character, and Roy, whose character was very original. Coming out on top was Nicole, who was extremely happy to win this week given that she had previously been eliminated from the show and is now making quite the comeback!

On the bottom were Alana, Derek, and Sarah. Sarah’s too-human costume and body was a miss according to the judges. Ultimately, it was Alana that was sent home as the judges felt her concept lacked structure from start to finish.

With five contestants remaining and the challenges getting more and more difficult, who do you think is going to come out on top? Tune in next Tuesday to catch episode nine, Junkyard Cyborg.
