Silent Hill: Revelation 3D in Theatres Today

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is out in theatres today, just in time for Halloween. This is the second installment in the Silent Hill franchise, based on the video game Silent Hill 3. The film follows a teenage girl who discovers that she’s not who she thinks she is. This revelation leads her into an demonic alternate dimension.

So it’s pretty scary.

If that’s your thing, make sure to pay special attention to the makeup you see on screen. Our very own Devon Ellis, a Makeup Design for Film & Television graduate, was part of the team of special effects makeup artists that worked on the film.

To get the looks just right, Devon and the rest of the team spent four months in a Toronto effects shop – often for up to 16 hours a day. But the work paid off! Devon made some great connections in Toronto, including veteran makeup artist Paul Jones. Since wrapping on the film in May, she has permanently relocated to Toronto and can now add another five projects to her resume, including the recently released feature film Resident Evil: Retribution.

Nice work, Devon!
